1. Is he a good speaker? Why/why not?
I thought he was a very good speaker, he didnt seem scared to stand up in front of all those people.
2. What were his good characteristics as a speaker? His bad?

He seemed to have his speech memorized very well, the only bad quality I saw was in the beginning his sentences were very choppy and broken up.
3. How did he use his voice (vocal inflection) to make his speech more effective?

He really "ham sandwiched" it. Different pitches in his voice.
4. How did he use gestures to make his speech more effective?

He wasnt just standing there behind a podium, he was walking around and connecting with the audience.
5. Why do you think they selected him as their keynote speaker? (Keynote speakers are the main speakers of a meeting, convention, etc.)

He seemed to be very well spoken and very very good with memorization. Being as young as he was had a good effect also. Not every 5th grader you see has spoken infront of 20,000 people.
6. What was the main point of his message? Was it an important message? Why/why not?

I think the main point was to show the schools that the up and coming students needed their support. They wanted them to believe in them, also to believe in their selves. Also it talked about now important schools are to some children.
7. Do you think the teachers believed his message? Did it inspire them? Why/why not?

Im not sure if the teachers believed him, I mean I believed him, and seeing that kind of will to learn more must be a relief to teachers. I believe it inspired them, how could it not?

In 100-150 words, respond to the following:
What did you think of his message? If you were a teacher, would it have inspired you? Do not repeat any information that you used in the seven questions above.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dalton's speech, seeing that kind of courage in such a young boy is astonishing. Especially when you think back that some people are more scared of public speaking than death. It shows that know matter how old you are or where you are from that you have the capability to do whatever you want. Its very inspiring, it makes you realize that giving a 15 minute speech for our final infront of 20 people doesnt seem so bad. Dont get me wrong im not looking forward to it, but im less worried now that I know a 5th grader can speak infront or 20,000 people.

I like the font you used on your answers. I know that has nothing to do with the assignment, but I wanted to let you know.

Good responses to the questions. I'm glad he has inspired you not to be so nervous.

Grade: A

Nice job on setting up your blog! Enjoy!
